Weplay Homepage Case Study

This is a case study of the battle to get an entrenched homepage design from not-so-great to really great. In the original design, we learned users converted to find out what the service was about. This artificially inflated the performance of the page and we of course we needed to shift the metrics to drive meaningful conversion and retention.

We were a small, scrappy startup with no budget and resources for user research. So we boot-strapped our efforts by reaching out to users ourselves and speaking with folks in our lives involved in youth sports. We conducted interviews and surveys and generally got creative about sourcing input. I synthesized the team effort into personas that we relied on to make decisions.
